“DES MOINES, Iowa — Workers are growing to accept the idea that they may be working long after they’ve become eligible for senior discounts. Yet rather than fixate on their target retirement age, they’re increasingly focused on how much money they’ll need to retire, according to a new national survey by Wells Fargo & Co.”
 
Accept that I won’t be able to retire until my 80′s? Oh Hell No!  Do you accept that?  The sad fact is that Americans think that they have to do what they have always done, what their parents have always done and just accept this crap!
 
Wake up people ! There are many ways to retire early, like within 2 to 3 years, if you only have the courage and conviction to do what you need to do to get there.
 
You also need the strength to ignore all of the naysayers who would have you believe that you can’t do it just because they think they can’t!
 
This article goes on to say:
 
“This shift is coupled with their growing frustration that they’re not saving enough, and the reality that many haven’t created a detailed retirement plan. One of the striking results of the survey released Wednesday is that 25 percent of the respondents said they’ll need to work until at least age 80 because they will not have enough money to retire comfortably.”
 
Umm… How comfortable are you going to feel when you are 85? I have aches and pains at age 50. I’m sorry but at age 81 to 85 even if I have enough to retire, or if I live that long , I’ll be to friggin’ old to enjoy it! That’s me in the picture from my company’s customer appreciation calendar. To bad they don’t appreciate their employees. Don’t I look happy to be working night shift for about the 15th year running?

 
And the article continues: ” It seems the old expectations of working until one’s 60s and then taking it easy have been cast aside. This change in attitude of working to save a specific dollar amount is grounded in reality, said Joe Ready, a director of Wells Fargo Institutional Retirement and Trust.
 
But he notes that it raises a lot of larger issues for the workplace and the economy that have yet to play out. For instance, evaluating the potential impact on advancement opportunities for younger workers if their older peers stay on the job.”
 
I’ll tell you how it plays out with this type of brainwashing. People soon run out of advancement opportunities due to the fact that people are working longer and longer. I am a prime example. At my wonderful night shift job I am dead ended as a Shipping dept. Lead person.
 
It’s not that I have not put in for a management position. In my last interview I was told I’d have to take a $6000.00 per year pay cut because I was already making that much more than the base supervisor salary with the overtime I work (10 hours per week -mandatory as part of my job as lead).
 
So should I give in to the thinking of those brainwashed people  in this survey and really a majority of those in the working force as a whole, I might as well just kill myself!
 
We all have the ability to break the mold and a Duty to show our children that the way things used to be is not the way things have to be!
 
It’s time to start a revolution, not with weapons, but rather a Home business revolution that will give us back the freedom to do what we want, when we want to do it,  allowing us the freedom of retiring early so that we are healthy enough to be able to enjoy it!

 
My advice to everyone is to choose a reputable company and give it your all. Do not quit and do not listen to those who say you can’t!  I am currently on this road and I will have my Home paid off within 2 years and will be retiring soon after. Possibly sooner if my business continues to accelerate the way it is now!
