Meditation Benefits: What Is Meditation?
Meditation can be used to treat stress. Meditation or any activity that will reduce your stress levels can be useful in helping improve blood pressure and fatigue.
Prayer and Meditation. Prayer can be seen as a form of meditation practice. Both spoken as well as written prayers are found in all religious faiths. Prayer and meditation help you to focus on peace, gratitude and thoughtfulness. Focusing on the words in the prayer is a form of meditation because it quiets your thoughts and your mind.
Meditation will help you quiet the mind so that you can experience the deep peace that your body needs to repair itself that sleep alone can not solve. We especially need meditation in this fast paced extremely stressful world in which we live today!
Meditation can help you connect with your higher self or God or your creator, however you want to look at it. If you don’t practice an effective meditation technique that should be the first thing on your to do list! I personally suggest that you learn a well established technique that settles thebody and allos the mind to experience a state of profound silence.
There are 2 excellent meditation practices which you may want to look into. The art of meditation technique which you can find at http://www.artofmeditation.com/ or the Transcendental Meditation technique found at http://www.tm.org . You want to learn a time tested technique that has been handed down for thousands of years from master to student rather than a technique that may have been just made up by someone.
The truth is we work really hard and we get really tired and we are so tired that we cut ourselves off from the real source of peace, success, and abundance and from being able to hear those whispers from God or your higher self if you wish.
The art of meditation technique is one that anyone can learn which allows the mind to settle down and experience it’s own self. To contact the underlying silence and the joy that is the basis of all creation and with regular practice you can begin to experience the inner silence and the outer joy every single day of your life.
Experiences of deep silence, by the way, a silence that stays with you, even when you are not actively meditating have been reported over and over again and by so many people practicing meditation that top researchers are taking notice and begun doing research on the effects of meditation and the benefits to health.
Meditation helps the body experience a state of rest which is deeper than deep sleep, helps the body expell stress and fatigue that has been built up through years of living. It helps get rid of the stress that sleep alone does not eliminate. The state of rest that everyone experiences from even the first day is so profound that you will feel less tired and have increased energy and clarity.
I could go on and on about the benefits of meditation but you really have to experience it for yourself. You will not be sorry!
